Born in Kars in 1938, Seref Tasliova took lessons from the master asiks of the region, Tasliova is known for his strong talent in improvisation and his skill in playing the saz. Together with Murat Çobanoglu, he was successful at asik atisma (competitions in which asiks spar with lyrics improvised on the spur of the moment) and became well-known. He is still active in his career today.
