Also born in Kars, in 1940, Murat Çobanoglu took lessons in saz and poetry from master asiksa was an extremely successful asik in the area of atisma (verbal/musical sparring) and folk songs. He has made many records and cassetes, and gained fame with his song "Kiziroglu Mustafa Bey." He died in 2005.
